My current credit score is 745 and I've built it solely by using credit cards and paying on time (but never had any loans). Somebody told me that the abscence of installement-paid loan will prevent my score from climbing much higher. Is it true? I am not talking about a great interest rate loan, but just baseline, what credit score do I need to qualify for a loan at all? Due to some student loan troubles over the last 12 months, my credit score plummetted into the 500s (from around 700), but I make 6 figures with minimal debt so I'm wondering where I need my credit score to be before I can even consider a mortgage.

I paid off 3 of my 5 credit cards last year and this year the last 2 should be taken care of with taxes. I also plan to start paying on other debts I have. My credit score is terrible at the moment so I am wondering what I can do to help raise it and also wondering how long would it take it get up to the good to great rating
My credit score right now is a 515, and I just applied for an apartment but was denied since the credit score isn't a 530. What can I do to raise this score to a 530? They said I can try again in a month, so I want to try and bump it up by then. I'm going through a credit consolidation agency, so monthly payments are being made.
